This wikispace is made as a final project for the course of ENGL 116, assigned by Dr. Jorge F. Figueroa. Egypt has very interesting history, but I decided to center my focus for this work in their religion. Topics presented in this wikispace are: their major Gods and lesser deities, myths of world creation, mummification, funeral ceremonies and the weighing of the heart. Ancient Egyptians had a vastly amount of Gods and deities, some of the most important in their religion: Amun, Bastet, Horus, Hathor, Anubis, Isis, Osiris, Ra and others, are explained. Ancient Egyptians had various theories of how the world was created: The Memphite theology, the Theban theology, the Hermopolitan theology and the Heliopolitan theology. They were strong believers of life after death, for them death had many rituals, included the mummification process to preserve the body; the funeral cortege, when the body is taken to the tomb and the living could mourn the death; the opening of the mouth ceremony and the weighing of the heart, the judgment by the God Osiris to continue to the afterlife.
